The 1st ESG Finance Award Japan “Bronze Award”
The ESG Finance Awards Japan is an award that evaluates and commends initiatives of investor and financial institutions that actively engage in ESG finance and green projects that have had an outstanding impact on the environment and society, and initiatives of companies that identify important environmental opportunities and risks and incorporating them into management strategies to improve their corporate values and the environment. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received the Bronze Award in the Environmental Sustainable Enterprise category.
FY2019 New Diversity Management Selection 100
The New Diversity Management Selection 100 commends companies that have achieved improvement of corporate value through diversity management, aiming to encourage other companies by introducing advanced initiatives of companies linking diversity promotion to business results. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was awarded for the first time.
FY2019 Semi-Nadeshiko Brands
The Nadeshiko Brand is an initiative aiming to introduce certain Tokyo Stock Exchange -listed companies that are outstanding in terms of encouraging the empowerment of women in workplace as attractive stocks for investors who emphasize improving corporate value in the mid and long-term, thereby further accelerating companies’ efforts. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was selected for the Semi-Nadeshiko Brands under the Nadeshiko Brands.
2020 Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition (‘White 500’ of large enterprise category)
The Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program honors organizations with exceptional Health and Productivity Management(※) practices based on their contributions to addressing community health-related challenges and implementing the health awareness efforts of Nippon Kenko Kaigi. By increasing the visibility of such organizations, the program seeks to increase public recognition—from employees, job seekers, industry partners, and financial institutions—of their work in promoting employee health and productivity from a strategic management perspective. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was chosen for the White 500 of the large enterprise category for the fourth consecutive year, and Ajinomoto Frozen Foods Co., Inc. for the second consecutive year.

2020 Health & Productivity Stock Selection
The Health & Productivity Stock Selection is a list of Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed companies chosen for their work in promoting employee health and productivity from a strategic management perspective. Chosen on a one-company-per-industry basis, it aims to promote companies working on Health and Productivity Management(※) and to introduce the selected companies as an attractive investment option for investors who prioritize the improvement of corporate value over the long run. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was selected to represent the food industry for the fourth consecutive year.

Environmental Communication Awards "Entering the Hall of Fame"
The Environmental Communication Awards are given to reports that have contributed significantly to the advancement of environmental management, communication, and information disclosure in the business sector. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has been awarded the Hall of Fame by receiving the Sustainability Reporting Award (Minister of the Environment) at the 22nd Environmental Communication Awards.
2019 Leading Companies where Women Shine "Cabinet Office Special Minister Award (Gender Equality)"
The Leading Companies where Women Shine Award is intended to promote the creation of a workplace environment where women can play active roles by commending companies that have made remarkable achievements in a policy on the appointment of women to executive and managerial positions and their information disclosure. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has been recognized for actively promoting and providing opportunities for women as well as its efforts to create a culture where all employees can play an active role, and was awarded the Cabinet Office Special Minister's Award (Gender Equality).
3rd Japan SDGs Award “SDGs Deputy Director (Cabinet Secretary) Award”
The Japan SDGs Awards are designed to promote the efforts of companies and organizations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to promote all-Japan initiatives by implementing excellent initiatives. The Kyushu Rikisaku Vegetables® and Kyushu Rikisaku Fruits® Projects(※) are highly evaluated for their efforts to build a value chain that contributes to environmental improvement through low-carbonization and the revitalization of Kyushu area's agriculture.
※A joint project in which about 60 companies and organizations, including Aeon Kyushu Co., Ltd. and Ajinomoto Co., Inc., and other agricultural organizations, cooperate to compost effective by-products in Kyushu area and to produce/sell agricultural products using the compost.

The Japan Packaging Contest, which is held to develop and disseminate superior packaging and its technologies, sets the highest standard for packaging in Japan. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received the "Director of Industrial Technology and Environment Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" for "Glyna®" and "Amino Ale®" 6-piece trial products that have reduced environmental impact.

2019 Commendation by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology “Science and Technology Award (Development Category)”
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award in the Science and Technology field honors those who have achieved remarkable results in R&D related to science and technology, thereby improving the motivation of those involved in science and technology. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was awarded the Science and Technology Award (Development Category) for the achievement of development of a novel disease risk test method based on plasma amino acid profile ("Amino Index Technology").
